How It Works?

When you choose to use our site or work with our agents to find a new apartment home, the apartment community pays us a locator commission provided you designated as the sole referral source on the guest card and leasing paperwork.  We take a portion of our commission and offer it back to you in the form of a Cash Rebate or Free Move as a way of saying thank you for using our services.  By using our service, this in no way impacts your monthly rent or any specials or discounts being offered by the community.  Our Cash Rebate or Free Move is an additional incentive on top of whatever the apartment community is offering.  Rest assured we have you covered.  We are able to offer our clients the highest incentives in the industry due to the number of apartment communities we work with and the volume of leases we manage on a monthly basis.  Once we are able to validate your lease with the front office, our rebate processing will typically take approximately 6-9 weeks prior to you receiving your check unless you specified a free move. Free moves are arranged around your specified move date. Step by Step:

Please follow the steps below in order to be eligible for a Cash Rebate or Free Move.
  1. Sign up as a new user of
  2. If already signed up, be sure to login using your username / password.
  3. Find one or more apartments which you are interested in potentially moving. Try out our "mapping" features to help narrow your search.
  4. Before visiting the apartment community which you are interested for the first time, register with the property by clicking on the "Property Register" button on each of the apartment communities you are interested. This is important because we will be able to send a fax to the apartment community letting them know prior to your visit that you found them using helping to correlate our affiliation.
  5. When you visit the apartment community for the first time, please make sure you write down as the sole referral source on the guest card as to how you found them.
  6. If you do decide to sign a new lease, please be sure to write as the sole referral source again on the leasing application and paperwork.
  7. Finally come back to using your username and password.  Then find the apartment community you signed a lease with and click on the "Report Lease" button to begin your Cash Rebate or Free Move.

 Rebate Guarantee:

Should you find a competitor offering a higher cash rebate for the same community will match that offer plus an additional $25. The competitors offer must be for the same community, the same lease length, and the same unit size and bedrooms. Competitor's offer must be currently documented and verifiable and from a legitimate, licensed apartment locator. To be eligible for the offer match and additional $25 you must meet the regular eligibility requirements. You must also notify within 15 days after reporting your lease that you found a higher rebate.

 Cash Rebate and Free Move Eligibility:

The following must be satisfied in order to qualify for a Cash Rebate or Free Move:

  1. You must register with before your first visit to the property where you have signed a new lease.

  2. Register with each community online using before you visit the community. This will send a fax/email to the community making them aware of our relationship and helping to secure your rebate. We only send your name, type of apartment interest, and move date. We DO NOT send your contact information. We will keep the registration valid for up to 30 days.

    Failure to register with the community may cost you your rebate or free move!

  3. You must write '' on the Guest Card and Lease Application as the sole referral source for the property where you have signed a new lease.

  4. You must sign your lease prior to reporting it to

  6. To be entitled to a FREE MOVE you must report your lease to using our website at least 7 days prior to your move date. Failure to provide at least 7 days notice prior to your move may make you eligible for the Cash Rebate only.

  1. Only one rebate or free move service will be offered per lease signed.

  2. Only one occupant per apartment may report the lease and claim the reward.

  3. You may not be eligible for a rebate or free move on a lease length less than 6 months. We will work with the community and do our best to get you a full or prorated rebate if the community honors the lease and associated commission.

  4. You will not be eligible for a rebate on a lease for a complex in which you already reside, previously resided. or for a sister complex to the community you are moving from. A 'sister complex' is a property that is owned or managed by the same property management company the property where you previously resided.

If I choose a FREE Move vs. Cash what is included in my Free Move? realizes that moving is stressful enough let alone worrying about the headache and cost of arranging for your own move. That's why's FREE MOVE offer is committed to keeping your out-of-pocket move expenses as low as possible.

Unlike a lot of our competition, who nickel and dime their clients for various move exceptions, pays for move expenses by the hour. This way there is no limit on the number of boxes, the number of rooms, specialty items, floors, distance from the front door, etc., etc.t's purely a matter of how long it takes to move all of your belongings from one location to another. pays for move services by the hour. The number of hours allotted is based on bedroom size, lease length, and rent amount.

If your effective rent is $600 or less you cannot qualify for the free move but instead will receive a cash rebate as designated on the community detail page.

Moving time required above and beyond the provided allowance will be charged in 15 minute increments and is your responsibility. The listed timeframes on the community details page should be more than ample provided you are prepared, which would include the following:

  • All beds must be disassembled prior to your moving team's arrival.
  • All boxes must be taped and sealed prior to your moving team's arrival.
  • All items must be removed from furniture prior to your moving team's arrival.
  • All appliances and electronics should be disconnected and readied for loading.

Things We Don't Move:

  • Items over 200 lbs.
  • Live animals.
  • Flammables.
  • Pool tables unless disassembled, we do not assemble.
  • Grand pianos.

Things We Don't Do:

  • Disassemble / Assemble king size beds with foam mattresses.
  • Hook up anything that attaches to water lines such as refrigerators w/ice makers and washing machines.

  • Austin Market - 30 minute trip charge for the following: Marble Falls, Liberty Hill, Taylor, Granger, Elgin, Buda, Driftwood, Spicewood,, Hutto, Dripping Springs.
  • Dallas & Fort Worth Market - 45 minute trip charge for the following: Denton, Burleson, Azle, Justin, Clark, Argyle.
  • Houston Market - 30 minute trip charge for the following: Baytown, Cypress, Deer Park, Friendswood, Fulsher, Humble, Katy, Kingwood, League City, Pasadena, Pearland, Richmond, Spring, Texas City, Tomball.
  • Houston Market - 60 minute trip charge for the following: Conroe, Galveston, Kemah, Magnolia, The Woodlands.

Additional disclaimers:

  • Boxes over 50 lb. limit are $2 extra per box. All beds must be disassembled prior to the arrival of the movers. Any additional pickup and drop-off location charges are $20 per location and $1.20 per mile.
  • If you are moving beyond our move it for free service area, you must pay $1.20 per mile.
  • All boxes must be taped and sealed. We are not responsible for packing.
  • All items must be removed from furniture.
  • Breakable objects like mirrors and glass must be removed from furniture prior to the move.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to move any items we feel we cannot move safely.

Protecting Your Things:

All moves are automatically covered by the standard liability (valuation) for the industry, which is $0.60 per pound per article. This amount will typically cover the costs required to repair damaged items, but not replace them. Certain items you have may not be adequately covered under this option. Ameritex Movers has less than a 1% damage claim rate but it is recommended that insurance be purchased to cover very valuable or delicate items. Another alternative is to move the valuable or delicate items yourself instead of buying insurance to protect those few items. This is not insurance.
